History of Vetter Electric Company
Vetter Electric Company has been family owned and operated for well over half a century. Founded in 1950, my uncle Don and father Ed Sr. worked together running the company. At times one would solely run the company while the other served our country in Korea. Upon my uncles passing in 1967, Ed Sr. carried on in charge through the 70's, 80's, and 90's. He was very active in education and worked with both Somerset and Middlesex County Vocational Schools. As well as hiring apprentices through the CE programs (Cooperative Education- ½ day school, ½ day on the job), he also presented the Don Vetter Memorial Award for Best in Electrical Shop to help train many of our areas best electricians.
I, Ed Jr., joined the company in 1979 while still in high school. Upon graduation I started my full-time carrier which has given me over 30 years of personal electrical experience. In 1991, I took the helm while my father battled cancer and while he regained his health to return to work. He formally retired in 1994 and I have been solely in charge of operations ever since.
Almost 60 years later, we at Vetter Electric still pride ourselves on family values, and this is why we continue to keep families safe, room by room.
